We camp in Medina, Texas at The Farm Country RV Park for six months out of the year. The park doesn’t have cable TV or a satellite TV system that is fed into a cable system. Therefore, in order to have TV while in the park, you either have to have your own satellitle service or rely on the broadcast channels from San Antonio, Texas. We don’t have a satellite system because most of the campgrounds that we go to have either cable TV or a satellite system, so while in Medina we rely on the over the air antenna on the camper.
The main problem that we have had is that we are far enough away from San Antonio that the reception isn’t the best. With the new digital signals, if they aren’t strong enough they just drop completely out and we get nothing. To help solve this problem, I went out and bought a winegard Wingman that is suppose to increase the signal strength at the antenna. Not knowing any better, I thought that I had a Winegard antenna on the camper. After purchasing my Wingman and climbing on top of the camper, I found out that I had a Signal Commander antenna. Who ever heard of a Signal Commander! What to do now? I guess I’ll take it back because it doen’t look like it will fit. The Wingman comes with four mounting connectors and I only have two holes on the Signal Commander.
When I took the Wingman back to the dealer, they pointed out that there were to circles scribed on the back edge of the Wingman that matched the mounting holes in the Signal Commander. Since Signal Commander doesn’t have something like the Wingman, I decided to give it a try and see if it would work.
