To take an example, “moral” rather than “ethical” is commonly used to describe sexually virtuous conduct, while “ethical” is prefered when reffering to professionally virtuous conduct. Some would also say that “ethical” misdeeds are those that call for prosecution in civil court while “moral” misdeeds land one in criminal court and truly spoil reputations.
